THAT I MAY SEE – MARK 10: 46-52 (DAY 15)

“Then they came to Jericho. And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a great crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, a son  of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, saying, Jesus, Son of David, have pity and mercy on me [now]! …. And Jesus said to him, ‘What do you want Me to do for you? And the blind man said to Him, Master, let me receive my sight. And Jesus said to him, your way; your faith has healed you. And at once he received his sight and accompanied Jesus on the road” (Mk 10:46-52)
How I wish that our people could be as sincere as the blind Bartimaeus. This man knows the condition of his eyes. He know that he can’t see and that there is no need pretending about it. The bible said that many charged him to keep quiet but he was not intimidated by the number of the people charging him to be quiet.
The truth that we cannot deny is that many people among us are blind. Some are ignorantly blind that they don’t even know that they are blind, many are blind and know very well that they are blind, but pride has not allowed them to cry out for help. However, blindness in a man is a very big limitation to his own God-given ability and his capacity to do certain things in life.
But the worst kind of blindness which a lot of people who called themselves Christians suffer today is the spiritual blindness. This is the cause of the rottenness and worldliness we see today in our midst. No wonder Jesus says in Matt 15:14 “… if the blind leads the blind, both shall fall into the ditch”.
Spiritual blindness is caused by lack of knowledge of the word of God, lack of faith, prayerless life, absence of guiding gifts of God revelation, vision, dream, etc, reliance on worldly solutions to every problem, and living a sinful life. That is why we must cry to the Lord Jesus Christ in this twenty one days prayer to restore our spiritual sight so that we can follow correctly in His footsteps.
Spiritual blindness is the worst disease in the sense that it reduce even the most intelligent man to live in the level of an animal. On the other hand, your lukewarm approach to seeking help from God is always an obstacle to your prayer.
Bartimaeus did not mind those urging him to keep quiet when Jesus was passing; and as soon as he was told that the Saviour was calling him, he cast away his garment and went to receive his healing. As far as you are still comfortable in your pitiable condition, always ready with excuses for your sloppy attitude towards this prayer programme and prayer meetings, your problems will remain with you! So you must pray restlessly until your prayer is answered.
Let nobody or anything stop you. Yet, this programme has been designed for you to encounter the Lord for your total freedom. So get ready (in prayer) to receive your spiritual empowerment, your complete healing, your upliftment, your inheritance, manifestation of your destiny, restoration of your blessings, your total breakthrough, and so on.
PRAYER POINT
Tell Jesus how you desire to encounter Him now. Earnestly and slowly pray Psalm 63.
