There are many things that are calling for attention in today’s world and most of them are not spiritually inclined. People are getting more involved in diverse pursuits in life – self-discovery, advancement in academics, high tech, music, estate, business and financial breakthrough – that if care is not taken, ones spiritual life can go into the state of comatose, leading to an unbalanced life and possible regret later in life.

How Do I Care For My Spiritual life?

Pray Often:
It is not a joke nor a myth. Prayer is the key. There are some successful men today that people thought they never pray, judging wrongly that their exploits are only an outcome of their learning and efforts; but get close to these men, and you will marvel at their studious prayer life. Commune with God, He loves it. (Jeremiah 29:12)

Maintain An Orderly Life:
Do not be tossed around by situations of life. The wind does not care about what it is carrying, so far the object can be lifted by its force. So be resilient, focused and confident. Have an organised day, month and year. (Ephesians 5:15)

Seek Reconciliation:
We hurt and are hurt by others. So we must forgive others. Do not bear grudges. The adage is right, ‘To err is human, but to forgive is divine.’ Remember the divine instruction, if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you. (Matthew 6:14)

Be Apt To Learn:
A sound spiritual life does not happen at a twinkle of an eye! It is a result of a life disposed to learning from scriptures, spiritual writings, documents of the church and deductions from everyday realities. (2 Timothy 2:15)

Have Quality Friendship/Fellowship:
A tree does not make a forest neither does a man make a family. You need to have godly friends that will keep you on your toes always, sharpening and strengthening your faith and bond with God Almighty. ( Hebrew 10:25)

Love Righteousness/Hate Sin:
One of the simplest verse of the bible is Isaiah 1:16b-17a, ”…cease to do evil, learn to do good…” If you must grow and become like our Maker in all things, then do good. Live an upright life. Do not add to peoples’ sorrows, pains and difficulties of life.
