Have Faith In God.

A certain community, after staying for so many months without rainfall, called for prayers. The intent was to ask God to send them rain. Fasting was declared for some days which all the people complied with; and on the last day, everybody trooped to the market square to beckon on God to open the heaven for them. Remarkably, a little boy came with an umbrella! And guess what that means? It is faith! He believed that rain will come even at the prayer ground!

Habakkuk 2:4 says that the Just shall live by faith. Faith in God is very key to our worship and walk with God. “Can two walk together unless they are agreed?” God asked. Further in Proverb 3:5-6, the scripture read, “Trust in God with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.”

Why is faith so important? Hebrew 11:6 gave the right answer, “Without faith, it is impossible to please God.” Every work or action rooted and motivated by faith will always yield fruit pleasing to God. A just man lives by faith (in God) and that is why he cannot sin. His way of life is always pleasing to God because he believes in Him and lives by his principles.

Are all things then possible? In righteous sense, yes. All things are possible to him that believes (Mark 9:23). Why? It is so because the Just believes in God who can do all things (Luke 1:37). Jesus Christ’s words which He spoke to Martha confirmed this too – If you believe, you will see the glory of God (John 11:40).

What happens when all my prayers go unanswered? Do not go into despair! God answers prayers. So, trust in God still. Do not waiver in faith. Keep praying. When something bad happens, you are free to weep and lament; but after this, go back to your prayer altar. This is the faith that wins. ‘Mourning may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning’ (Psalm 30:5).

Have faith in God and keep moving on. Shalom.
