Introduction

In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God and the Word was God (John 1:1). Through this Word ALL things were made. The idea of reminding God of His words may sound strange after all He is God and He does not forget the things He said.

This kind of reminding is not for God’s sake, but for our sake. He knows that in the end, we are the ones who benefit by doing so. When we remind Him, we remember Him for who he is.

1. What do you understand by God’s Word? (John 1:1, Ps 33:4; John 17:17)

  • It is God himself
  • It is the truth
  • It is knowledge and understanding
  • It is divine message

2. Why should we remind God of His Word? (Deut. 30:19; Isaiah 43:26; 1 John5: 14-15; Isaiah 62:6-7)

  • Declaring our readiness and maturity to receive God’s blessing
  • He gave us the freedom of Choice
  • It is for our benefit
  • He said we should put Him to remembrance

3. For us to remind God of His Word, we first of all must have a sound knowledge of His Word. How do I build a sound knowledge of God’s Word (Joshua 1:8; Hebrew 10:25)

  • By Studying and Meditating on the Word
  • Fellowship with brethren
  • Reading Christians Books
  • Listening to Christians messages

4. What are the benefit of reminding God of His Word? (Psalm 119:49-50; 2Chronicles 1:9)

  • Prompt answer to prayers
  • It strengthens us
  • It gives us hope
  • It increases our faith
  • It shows trust in God
  • It shows we are moving on the right track.

Conclusion
Go to God in prayer and say “Father in your word, you made a promise that I should ask in faith.” Then make your request to God.

But remember that God is in control, he does not operate on our schedule. Jesus is our role model. He made His request to the Father but then said “Yet not my will but yours be done” (Matthew 26:39).

We are confident that God is a convenant keeping God. All His promises will be fulfilled, according to His “timetable.”

NOTE: That Promise will come through on the exact day and at the exact moment He has planned it and not one minute of worry will change it.
