Introduction

The eyes of the Lord is too holy to behold iniquity! God can never put up with sin.

No excuse can justify sin! God does not condone sin because you’re a youth.

The history is replete with youth who were on fire for God and who swore never to sin!

Daniel, a 17 years boy, swore never to eat the king’s contaminated delicacies.

Joseph, a 16 years boy, ran away when Potiphar’s wife lured him to sin!

Anna married at about 20 years and lived with her husband for only 7 years, after which her husband died.

This woman lived the rest of her life in prayer and fasting. And guess what?

At an age of 84, God gave her grace to see the righteous child Jesus when he was being presented to the temple for dedication! She saw him and prophesied wonderful things about Jesus.

The Bible said you should fight sin even at the point of shedding your blood!

A lie that comes from your mouth has massively destroyed every relationship you have with God. Why? Because the father of all lies is devil, an enemy of uprightness!

What Gains Come With Righteousness?

1) Righteousness Attracts God’s Love.

Ps 37:28 says that the Lord loves the just and will not forsake His faithful ones.

2) Righteousness Gets God’s Attention Quickly

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are attentive to their cry (Ps 34:15)

3) Righteousness Delivers From Death

Prov 10:2 says that Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value, but righteousness delivers from death!

4) Righteousness Helps You to Pray Effectively

In James 5:16, the Scripture says, “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”

5) Righteousness Delivers From Afflictions

Do you know that the bones of Jesus were never broken? Why? Because the Scripture said that the bones of the righteous shall never be broken!

See Psalm 34:19-20, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken!

6) Righteousness Lifts You Up

Proverbs 14:34 says “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people”

7) Assurance of Reward from Your Labour.

Isaiah 3:10 commands us to “Tell the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.”

Furthermore, Job 36:11 says, “If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.”

Psalm 112 crowns it all. See what verses 1-3 said:

“Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments.

His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed.

“Wealth and riches will be in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.”

8) Righteousness Instills Boldness

Yes! Uprightness attracts boldness. Proverbs 28:1 says, “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.”

9) Righteousness Attracts God’s Blessings

Proverbs 10:6 says, “Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.”

Proverbs 10:7 went ahead to say, “The name of the righteous is used in blessings, but the name of the wicked will rot”

God showers the righteous with His Blessings.

10) Righteousness Grants Access to Eternal Life.

The Scripture said that nothing unclean shall enter into the Kingdom of God!

Here is how Amplified Bible captures Matthew 25:46, “Then these [unbelieving people] will go away into eternal (unending) punishment, but those who are righteous and in right standing with God [will go, by His remarkable grace] into eternal (unending) life.”

We are called to the life of righteousness! Let’s be a living saints, men and women that are ready to do all it takes to live an upright lives.

Titus 2:11-12, “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age”

Beloved, amend your life today and embrace the life of righteousness! Amen.
