Theme: Be Led By The Holy Spirit

Text: Luke 4:14-22

… v. 16 “He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day as He usually did. He stood up to read, and they handed Him the scroll of the prophet Isaiah.

Unrolling the scroll, He found the place written, “The Spirit of the Lord has been given to me, for He has anointed me. He has sent me to bring good news to the poor, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and to the blind new sight, to set the downtrodden free, to proclaim Lords year of favor”… (Read on to vs. 22)

Reflection:

Having passed the trials and temptations in the wilderness, Jesus is aware of the presence of the Spirit in Him. It is the Spirit that empowered Him to preach and to heal which are the two main works of Christ.

Likewise we, having being filled with the Holy Spirit, we are anointed to proclaim the Good News and touch people’s lives positively.

Prayer:

My Lord Jesus, anoint me more with your Holy Spirit. Empower me to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to make the blind see, and to set the captive and the oppressed free. Amen.

Bible Study:

Ezekiel 34,35; Hosea 7,8
