How a Blood Donor Saved My Life!

During a bloody war, a cruel commander decided to murder everyone in a small village.

So after the massacre began, a fugitive observed that after the soldiers killed each one in the house, they smeared blood on the door of the house to indicate that death had taken it’s toll, or that all the occupants have been killed.

Quickly, this fugitive sneaked to the house where his friends were hopelessly awaiting death. At once the idea came to them; “kill a goat and smear its blood on their door!” Without wasting time, the task was completed.

Soon afterwards, the soldiers approached after they finished killing all the residents of neighbouring houses, they came to the door smeared with goat’s blood.

Surprisingly, upon sighting the blood on the door, they made no attempt to enter. They thought that the deadly work had already been done in the house. The blood on the door was an evidence of death! No other proof was needed!

Although everyone else in the village was murdered, this fugitive and his friends behind the blood marked door were saved!

If you were living in that war zone, would you have hesitated to hide behind the door marked with the blood? Is there no similarity between the above story and the festival of the first Passover Lamb in Exodus Chapter 12, that took place in Egypt?

Beloved in Christ, reflect upon this a little; if the blood of the goat in this story saved the fugitive and his friends, the blood of the passover lamb saved the Israelites in Egypt (Exodus 12:21-27).

Don’t you think that the Blood of Jesus Christ, the authentic Passover Lamb will save us from eternal death?

Death and judgement are coming yet, many are not willing to take the escape route in Christ Jesus, through His Blood. It is written that, “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23).

The writer of the Letter to the Hebrews says, “It is appointed unto man once to die and after that comes judgement” (Hebrews 9:27).

Because of your sins, the death penalty is upon you — not from a cruel commander, but from a righteous God who hates sin. That same God loves sinners and has provided a way of escape from eternal punishment.

Just as these fugitives were sheltered by the blood of that innocent goat, so will you be sheltered by the Blood of Jesus Christ who died for your sins.

God says in Exodus 12:13, “When I see the blood I will pass over you.” That’s the Blood of His only begotten Son who loves you and died for you to be save! Would you not rather cover yourself with the Blood of Jesus today and be saved?

God wants to save you! He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Won’t you take refuge in the Blood of Christ, the only way to safety?

May this precious Blood of Jesus wash away all your sin. Through this blood, may you find healing, protection, deliverance and salvation. Amen!
