Text: Mark 2: 13-17

“… V. 16. When the scribes of the Pharisees party saw him eating with sinners and tax collectors, they said to his disciples, “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

When Jesus heard this He said to them, “it is not the healthy who need the doctor, but the sick. I did not come to call the virtuous but sinners.”

Reflection:

Perhaps you look at yourself and feel, “I am not good enough to be a disciple”.

Remember Levi, the corrupt tax collector, was in the same situation. But Jesus does not call the virtuous, the Holy people”. He calls the spiritually sick, the sinners. He calls them to repentance.

Prayer

My Lord Jesus, thank you for thinking of me. Forgive me my sins; and reconcile me with the Heavenly Father. Amen.
