WHO DOES JESUS SAY YOU ARE?

Introduction:
After all these years as a christian, is your name in the book of life? If God knows everything about us, our thoughts and desires, then nothing can be hidden from us (Psalm 139). Even before we were born the Lord knew us (Jeremiah 1:4-5). Do you have God’s stamp of ownership on you? (Eph 1:13-14).

By virtue of our baptism, God has placed his stamp of ownership on us. He chose to identify with us, making us sons of God.

One important thing to note is that God knew each of us, what we do in open and in secret places, and the thoughts of our minds. We might deceive the world, but we can’t deceive God. Are you living a double standard life? Hear this, the Lord God knows those who are his (2Tim. 2:19). No wonder Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (2Cor. 11:14). All these the Lord warned us in Matthew 7:15-16 – “Beware of false prophets who moves about in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves, for by the fruits they bear, you will know them”. In verse 21-23 of this same chapter, the Lord established the faith of those who preach, prophecy, evangelize in his name but are not recognized in Heaven – he will say to them; “depart from me you workers of iniquity”.

In John 1:47 – Jesus gave a testimony about Nathanael that kept me thinking. “This is a true Israelite in whom there is no deceit”. Can Jesus make this same declaration about you?

Conclusion:
Those who know their God shall be strong and will do exploit. Finally, brethren! It is not he who commends himself that is approved but he whom the Lord commends (2Cor.10:18).

SHALOM!
