DON’T TAKE GOD’S GLORY (Judges 8:22-23)

The Israelites said to Gideon, “Rule over us—you, your son and your grandson—because you have saved us from the hand of Midian.” But Gideon told them, “I will not rule over you, nor will my son rule over you. The Lord will rule over you.”
It’s good to acknowledge people’s good deeds and helps in our lives but not to the point of taking the glory reserved for God alone. People might have being of great help to us, being the vessel that God used to save us but doesn’t make them God over us.
Gideon played the role of a leader in the life of the Israelites when they were subjected to seven years slavery. This spurred them to cast a vote of confidence on Gideon to make him, his son and grandson their leader, forgetting that it was God who did the work of deliverance and setting them free.
Gideon being a Spiritual man who was careful of his limit immediately returned the glory to God who used him.
Many ministers today assume the position of God, self seeking preachers, who glories in the miracles God performs and taking the glory due to God.
We must acknowledge God in everything we do, for he is the holder of all things. Men are just vessels and instruments through which God manifests his wonders.
Give him his glory at all time.
