FOCUS: Exploring The Place and Relevance of Faith and Grace In Glorious Manifestation.
Introduction
God’s earnest desire for us His children is to manifest His glory both in our lives and in the lives of people around us. Manifesting this glory demands utmost faith in Him who does all things; and maximizing his abundant grace made available to us.
During our previous three prayer meetings in this month, God did minister to us on the concept of faith and grace; what they mean, their importance and areas of applicability in our present lives.
Today, we will take a broader view of these gifts – faith and grace, exploring their roots and richness as well as things that can limit their full manifestation in our lives.
Class Study
A). What is Faith and Grace?
(Bible Study verses: Hebrew 11:1-5 and 2 Cor. 12:8-9)
1). Complete believe/trust in God. (faith)
2). Evidence of things not seen. (faith)
3). Unmerited favour. (Grace)
4). Undeserved help. (Grace)
B). What are the sources of Faith and Grace?
(Bible Study verse: John 1:16; John 14:1; Romans 10:17; 2 Peter 1:2)
1). They come from God Almighty and by His son Jesus Christ
2). Come close to God and enjoy the riches of Grace to enable thy work of faith.
C). What makes faith and grace to shine out in the life of a believer?
(Bible study verse: James 2:14-26; 2 Peter 1:3-11; Luke 2:51-52)
1). Active works.
2). Daily expression of the qualities of a true Christian – love, godly fear, etc.
3). Devotion to prayer and bible study.
4). Passion for ones work/profession.
5). Studying men and women of faith.
6). Listen to testimonies of others.
7). Living out your vocation/calling.
D). What can we learn from Abraham, ‘the father of faith’?
(Bible Study verse: Genesis 15:1-6, 22:1-18; Romans 4:13-25; Hebrew 11:8-12)
1). Confidence in God.
2). Readiness to obey God.
3). No doubt.
4). God is faithful to his words.
E). What can limit faith?
(Bible study: James 2:26; Matthew 14:25-31; 1 Cor 10:1-12; James 4:6)
1). Unbelief, doubt and Pride.
2). Laziness; inactive/inaction and sin.
F). What can faith and grace do for me?
(Bible Study: Rom 1:17; Matt 17:20; Heb.11:6; Is.40:31; Eph.2:8-9; 2 Cor 8:9; Luk 1:26-28; Mk. 5:21-43)
1). It enables you to live as a believer.
2). It brings success to your works.
3). It enables you move your mountains.
4). Salvation, healing and open door.
5). It keeps you away from sin.
6). You enjoy favor with God and men.
7). Ability to endure to the end.
8). It please God and attracts his blessings.
Conclusion:
We are richly blessed to be members of Christ’s Mystical body. Being in Him, we should live as God’s true children. God also makes his grace available to us in order to enable us radiate his glory.
Dear brethren, we have all it takes to live successful and impactful lives. All God’s revelations have come to strengthen our faith and to assure us that He is with us.
Being thus favoured, let us go forth and put our faith to work. Let us not entertain any doubt nor have double minds; with God all things are possible (Luke 1:37).
