Walk With Me And Be Perfect.

Whenever God comes into a life or rather calls any person, the utmost demand He makes of that soul is to obey him and live righteously. God hates rebellion as man loathes death. And when this wholesome desire of God is welcomed by any human person, there comes a glorious presence and favour of God in display. The scripture is replete with men whom the LORD God called and given this righteous command; while some were obedient to the end, others played a fool.
Let’s consider few people in the scripture that God spoke explicitly on issue of righteous living.
Abraham:
When Abraham was 99 years old, God visited him. And what do you think was God’s request from this nonagenarian? It was a request, ‘I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be you perfect.’ (Genesis 17:1) And in return, God promised him his covenant and to increase him exceedingly. But then, there must be a fulfillment of the first demand – be perfect!
Joshua:
Joshua played a key role during the stretched journey of ancient Israelites. When the baton of leadership fell to him, the Almighty God visited him. Joshua 1:7 captures the central message God gave him – Only be you strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded you; turn not from it to the right hand or to left; that you may prosper wherever you go!
Solomon:
That King Solomon departed from God in his old age was shameful; but as for being instructed in righteousness, the Lord God did. In 2 Chronicles 7:17 God told him clearly, ‘As for you, if you walk before me faithfully as David your father did, and do all I command, and observe my decrees and law, I will establish your royal throne…’
Isaiah:
Before Isaiah could proceed into the depth of his prophesies, he needed an encounter with the God Almighty. This he had. The LORD God visited and purged him of all his sin. Isaiah 6:6-8 was detail on it, verse 7 reads, ‘And he laid (a life coal) upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this has touched your lips; and thy Iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.’ It was then that Isaiah heard God saying, ‘Whom shall I send?’
God still calls His people today to walk with Him in righteousness, holiness and purity of life. He is our God and we are His people. Let us obey and follow Him. Amen.
