When Jesus Becomes Your Lord.

It is easy to say ‘Jesus is my Saviour.’ One can easily believe it, rejoice and celebrate his redemption while neglecting the most important aspect of Christ call: which is to be our Lord.

The truth is this: Jesus did not come just to teach us the way of righteousness, give us power, save us from sin, and pour His Spirit on us. It does not end there. There is a more reason to all these works.

He wants to see how you will respond to His work which He has done for you. If this Man has truly reconciled me to my Heavenly Father and destroyed the yoke of Satan, forgiven my sins and taken away the punishment therein; I ought to take Him and make Him my Lord.

He said, ‘I am the Way, the Truth and the Life,’ ‘I am the resurrection and the life,’ ‘I am the good Shepherd,’ ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you,’ ‘I am with you always till the end of the time,’ ‘I am the light of the world,’ and ‘Cut out from Me, you can do nothing.’

While considering all these statements above, even without being told, the proper thing every rational person should do is to identify wholly with this Man called Jesus who has done all these works, which no man can do. ‘Come into my life,’ should be a daily yearning, ‘Take ownership of my life; guide me and teach me your way.’ That is what it means to make Jesus the Lord of your life.

And when Jesus comes, (a) He brings peace because He is the Prince of peace. (b) He makes things that seem impossible to become possible. (c) He fights your battle and secures your life. (d) He gives you self contentment and boldness. (e) He strengthens you to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit. (f) He helps you to live a life that brings pleasure to God. (g) He leads you into eternal life.

Is Jesus then your Saviour and Lord? Can you say with Saint Paul, ‘I live, not I but Christ lives in Me; the life I live now in the flesh, I live by the faith of the son of God who loved me and gave Himself up for me’ (Galatians 2:20). Are you ready to give up every other things that have been master in your life and welcome Him to be your one and only Lord and Master. Then do it, tell Jesus to be your Lord. You can say this prayer to Him.

My Saviour Jesus Christ, I welcome you in life today. Take ownership of my entire life: my body, soul and spirit. Be my Lord and Master all the times. Amen.
