BEING CONSCIOUS OF OUR LIFESTYLE (1Cor. 8:10-13)
5 years ago Evangelical Ministry 0
10. For if someone with a weak conscience sees you, with all your knowledge, eating in an idol’s temple, won’t that person be emboldened to eat what is sacrificed to idols?
11. So this weak brother or sister, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge.
12. When you sin against them in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.
13. Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall.
There are certain things that in real sense, they might not be morally wrong, but for the sake of the consciences of our mentees… we avoid them to retain the reverence they have for God and the respect you command.
Drinking alcohol might not be scripturally and morally wrong, but what role does it play in the salvation of soul? Anything done that centres not on salvation should be weighed. There are certain lifestyles we live which might not have contradicted the scripture or proved to be wrong, but how it affects the conscience especially those looking up to us is a subject to checkmate very well.
In all things, as children of light, let us lay aside those controversial lifestyles that are in contrapuntal with the salvation of souls.
Happy Glorious Sunday to you all…. Favorable week for us. Amen!!!
