UNLOCKING YOUR POTENTIALS

Introduction:
Potentials are God’s giving abilities inherent in Man. Is like crude oil that was kept and has not been used.

SOURCES OF POTENTIALS

Gen. 1: the creation story is a practical example of God showing his Potentials in His creative ability.

And God made man in his own image and blessed him to have Dominion over the earth. Remember when God created man he made him in his own image and likeness. So God is the source of our Potentials.

Today’s teaching is a call to unlock/release every inbuilt ability and put them to maximum use; the Potentials God has deposited in us.

God’s Potentials in you is beyound speaking in tongues or the healing powers you possess. Our brother Joshua is a clear example, as he was about to rest, God revealed to him all that is left unconquered. Joshua 13:1. You can’t unlock what you don’t know. Age is not a limitation as in the case of Joshua and Gideon (Judges 12:14).

Though Gideon didn’t Know that he has this innate ability/Potentials to deliver his nation. So also are you, you are expected to live a balanced spiritual life having the ability to succeed in every spiritual life. We have the potential to restore all we lost in Adam.

KINDS OF POTENTIALS

1. Spiritual Potential
We are carrying Jesus, he is our Potential. Every baptized Christian has the ability to regain what was lost in Adam (Rom. 8:29). We are expected to be like Jesus. We are to live to the standard of Jesus which is the CCRN standard. Matt. 5:20 – our good must exceed that of the Pharisees. Love your enemies and do good to them. Be good to the ungrateful and do good to them. The potential inside you is beyound that of Elijah which is fire to fire.

Nobody becomes a saint after death unless he lives a saintly life before he dies and then is confirmed a saint when he dies. We all have the potential to lay genuine ministry which is the ministry that does not show self. It doesn’t show something private but shows discipleship making men followers of Christ. Under this potential, leadership ministry is to lead people to God and not to yourself the leader.

People should learn to call on God when they have problem and on you their leader. As a leader, you should remind them of 1 John 4:4 that He who is in us is greater! 3 John 1:2 that you may prosper even as your soul prospers.

2. Marital Potential

We have the Potentials to overcome every marital challenges and give God godly seed. Malachi 2:16 – I made them one. Gen. 18:19 – I know him that he will command his children to follow my ways. Noel lived in a wicked generation yet he made sure that his entire family was saved. When you see a child of God you will see the evidence in his children/family.

Make it a project that everyone in your house must be saved.

3. Material Potential

You are a potential billionaire. You have the potential to be the best in your endeavor (Acts 20:34). There are some sermons your wealth will preach. We must desire complete freedom/ balanced success in our Christian Life.

KEYS TO UNLOCK YOUR POTENTIALS

Deal with every obstacles, Negative mindset, wrong mentality.

“Eg: money is the root of all evil, why trying to prosper?”

“I need to remain at low level of life so as to remain in a high level of spirituality etc”.

They all sound like truth but that truth is dangerous. A mindset that sees prosperity as evil, needs divine deliverance. Spirituality is not an enemy of prosperity eg: Joseph, Abraham, Peter, Elisha, Gideon, etc were renouned men with riches. God is not interested in drop outs, he wants the best in their fields of endeavors.

Teachers need to go and teach our brethren the right things because we now have professional beggers among us. It is the wish of God that we prosper and be of good health just as our soul prospers spiritually.

Conclusion:

Let us pray that God will unlock our Potentials as we move into prayers of never to remain the same after this divine encounter. You were born to rule with Christ in the heavenly places.
