The manner of the prayers Saint Paul prayed for us Christians is not only guide on how we should live, but an example of how our prayers should be.

Often in our prayers we are occupied with our personal needs: what to eat, what to wear, what to do. We fail to pray deeply as Christians who are on mission in this world. It’s time to reorganise our prayers.

In Colossians 1:9-12, Saint Paul prayed for the believers in Colossee and his prayer is revealing. We can learnt a lot from it. Below is that prayer;

“For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light” (NKJV)

From this prayer, we can see 6 things Saint Paul prayed for which he want to get accomplished in us:

1. That we be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding:

St. Paul want us to know the will of God for all His people. This will be in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.
