Acts 10:1-4
“There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment, a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always.
About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!”
And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, Lord?” So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God” (NKJV).
Meditation
Cornelius sought God through his prayers, righteous living and alms giving. And these things he did came up to God as a sweet aroma and a memorial making God to remember him.
This led to the salvation of the Cornelius house as God poured His Holy Spirit on the entire family members and in extension to the whole community of the Gentile by sending Saint Peter to him .
Be sincere in your service to God. Be steadfast in prayers. Be willing to give from your resources for others’ wellbeing. These works please God when done wholeheartedly and attracts His blessings. Amen.
Prayers
+ Lord, you are my strength. Give me the grace to continue in righteous works, in prayers and in almsgiving.
+ Deepen my love for you and for my neighbour, O Lord. Amen
