Thirsting for God

Isaiah 42:1-3

As a deer longs for a stream of cool water, so I long for you, O God.

I thirst for you, the living God; when can I go and worship in your presence?

Day and night I cry, and tears are my only food; all the time my enemies ask me, “Where is your God?” (GNB).

Meditation

As deer longs for water because its life and existence depend on it, so the people of God should long to be with God, to know Him, to worship and serve Him.

Our life, joy, peace, provision and fulfilment depend on God. Cut out from Him, we can do nothing! Our lives find their meaning and purpose in God.

Prayer

+ Ask God for the grace to abide in Him and to find contentment in Him always.
