bread-and-cup-2Who doesn’t like to be celebrated. Who among us does not wished to be acknowledged. Who does not want to be crowned?
The image of ‘crown’ as used here referred to the garland or victory wreath used to crown winning athletes in ancient Olympics. The “crown of righteousness” is the crown that consists of righteousness, purchased at great cost by the blood of Jesus. This crown is kept ‘in store’ for some people. Yes, not to everybody. The crown has been reserved for those that merited it. Who are these people that the crown awaits? The scripture said, ‘all who have loved His appearing’ (2 Timothy 4:8). The question now is, ‘do I love Christ coming?’

The word ‘Loved’ in Greek is ‘Agapao’ meaning ‘to welcome, to entertain, to be fond of, to love dearly’. Anyone who truly waits and ‘loves’ Christ coming must, without mistake, be that individual who is fulfilling his or her purpose in life and have really gone far in finishing his assignment on earth. Like Simeon of old who said, ‘now let your servant depart in peace for my eyes have seen the salvation which you have prepared…'(Luke 2:29,31), these are men who knew God and knows what He want them to do on earth, and have gone doing them, and are about or have completed their divine assignment. If that do not define you, then there is a call today, a holy awakening for you to rise and see again those things God wants us to do on earth and start doing them. I plead, sincerely with all of us brethren, to go and do the works of God because there is much yet do be done in the Master’s Vineyard.
