Courage is the ability to face and deal with a dangerous or difficult situation. It is persistence in spite of pains and uncertainties of life.

Challenges of Life
It is not easy to live in this present time. Problems are coming up on daily basis, most of which tend to make us lose hope or give up on life. It could be hunger – inability to find something to eat, or family problems like being unable to pay your house rent, school fees, or buy the things you need in your home.

You may have lost your job, or be finding it difficult to get employed. What of sicknesses, death of loved ones, disappointment, failure, and not making money? Are you desirous to make progress and achieve great things in life? Are you being threatened to do something wrong? Are you being warned not to expose evil and corruption going on in your office or around you?

What You Must Know
All these challenges are battles we fight in life. But one good thing is that, for a child of God, the battle is not yours. The battle is of the Lord. God will enable you to overcome all these problems. He will ensure that His will is completely done in your life. Therefore, you should not worry at all.

Hear What God Is Saying To You
Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed; for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you; I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

How Will I Remain Courageous In Today’s World?
1. Know who God Almighty is and His promises. Knowing God builds your confidence and trust in Him which enables you to remain strong and deal wisely in every affairs of life (Joshua 1:7-9).

2. Look unto God, not on your situations. Have faith in God. Do your own part. Continue to follow God, obey His commands, and He will gradually make you strong in Him (Proverb 28:1).

3. Learn to use your Talents and Skills. You are gifted. There are good things you can excel in, like cooking, driving, sowing, mason, etc. Do them, and be getting money without begging (Proverb 10:22).

4. Confront your fears. There are good things you think you cannot do. There are great ideas you wrongly assume are impossible to achieve but, in reality, they are easy and can be done by you. Take action; tackle them; and fear will disappear (1 Samuel 30:8).

5. Be truthful. Don’t tell lies. Say the truth always. Don’t allow anybody to intimidate you, or bully you, or instill fear in you. Don’t succumb or chicken out! Remain on the right path. Stand on the truth (Proverb 14:34).

6. Make good use of every opportunity that comes your way. Look out for new jobs, businesses and trainings that come up every moment, and try the ones you can do. Don’t stay idle in life (Proverb 22:29).

Never Be Discouraged
Have you suffered a loss? Don’t be discouraged. Are you confused, afflicted, or going through some painful situations now? Never be downcast. It is only for short time. Your future is bright. God loves you and has a good plan for your life. Though you may be weeping today, but don’t give up. Be strong; be courageous. God can change your story tomorrow for better.

The bible said that “they that know their God shall be strong and shall do exploits in life” (Daniel 11:32). God is the only one that can strengthen you in this life. You can do all things through Christ, our Saviour (Philippians 4:13). Draw closer to God. Repent of your sin. Grow your relationship with God. Tell Him your problems and ask for His help.

‘Courage!’ God says to you today, ‘It is I. Do not be afraid’. Shalom.
