Understanding the concept of light and why it must be shone.

When God created man, he made him in his own image and likeness; meaning he took himself, his glory and majesty, and made man out of it. The scripture said that he breathed into his nostrils, the breath of life and man became a living soul. Who is this God we are talking about? In the new testament book of John, it is stated that God is light, and in him, there is no darkness at all (1John 1:5).
Hear what the Psalmist said, ‘In thy light, we see light’ (Psalm 36.9). That’s the glory which Satan was jealous about and can’t imagine that Man will share in it. He(Satan) orchestrated an evil agenda, leading to man’s disobedience and eventual fall (from glory). But God loved man that he created and would not allow darkness to reign over him. At the appointed time, he restored man to his true glory, through the full radiance of the light of the son of his love Jesus Christ. This Jesus became the true light that enlightens everyone in the world. (John 1:9). And to all who comes and believes in his name, he makes his light to shine in them.
*Why my light must shine*
– For I have been chosen by God. (1 Peter 2:9).
– To attain the purpose of my creation, in God’s way (Acts 9:3-6).
– For good and glory of God (Matthew 5:14-16).
– To dispel darkness i.e sin, evil and corruption (Phil 2:14-16).
– To avoid unequal yoking with unbelievers and sinners (2 Cor 6:14).
– For salvation of souls; bringing men to the True light, Jesus Christ (Isaiah 49:6, Acts 13:47)
– To remain pure to the end. (Proverb 4:18)
Arise, shine for your light has come (Isaiah 60:1). May the light of the gospel of Christ illuminate every parts of your life and make you yield to every righteous act. Amen.

Indeed, I am blessed. And this light of mine must shine all the days of my life. Amen.
