Introduction

The 2-Day training of all leaders in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in Awka Region commenced yesterday at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka.

The first seminar was delivered by Bro Emma Mobiukwu, who is the Provincial Chairman, Onitsha Diocese and Vice Chairman of National CCRN.

Below are the highlights of the training:

Vision statements focus on tomorrow and what an organization wants to become.

Mission statement focuses on today and what an organization wants to do in order to achieve it’s vision.

Vision statement looks forward and creates metal state of what an organization wants to achieve.

3 Things to Look at When Building Vision Statement.

1) What problem do we want to solve.
2) Where are we headed.
3) Where are we going to be in next 10, 20 & 30 years

The Vision of CCRN

To ensure that the special charisma gifts be fully integrated into the life of the Church that people’s life be better and know God better.

What Shall We Do To Make This Happen

1) Conviction of Heart and Mind (John 12:14)

2) Understand the Radical Call of the Gospel (Gal 5:25)

3) Exercise the Gifts of the Holy Spirit to the full (2 Tim 1:6-7)

4) To become holy people of God.

5. To become a people United to the prayer of Christ (John 17:22-23)

6. To become a witness to the good news through the witness of the Holy Spirit.

7. To be a prophet in action in the areas of mercy and social justice.

8. To evidence the fruit of the Holy Spirit especially love.

9. To realise that there’s no glory without the cross.

10. To have a balanced relationship to Blessed Virgin Mary which the Church acknowledges.

Charismatic renewal has something special to give to the Church which is the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The Mission of CCRN

The mission of the Church is the mission of the Charismatic – To Witness to the Gospel,

– To be living instrument to the Church (Lumen Gentum 33),

– Proclaiming the good news,

– Bringing the good news to every strata of the society

We are called to not be cradle charismatics but committed charismatic. Committed Charismatic seeks good and quality food. Committed Charismatic wants to be a source of blessings to others.

The grace of Pentecost makes us renewed, spirit filled not spiritually spent!

Conclusion

Like Joshua, our cry should be “As for me and my family, we will serve the Living Lord.”

Like Isaiah, we must faithfully say, “Here I am, sent me”

Like Jesus, we can say, “I have come to do your will.”

Like Mary, we’ll humbly submit ourselves to the will of God saying, “I’m your handmaid of the Lord, be it done to me according to your will”

Like Peter, we shall say, “Lord, to whom shall we go, you have the message of eternal life.”

Like the disciples with trial said, “Better to obey God than man”

Like the writer of the first John, we should say, “what we have seen, heard, believe, we shall live”

Let’s be faithful so as to receive a good report from God on the last day.

Jesus said “I hold my people responsible for lost soul.”
