BEARING THE FRUITS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
*(Galatians 5:22)*
The fruit of the Holy Spirit is that very quality that differentiates a true believer from ordinary Christian. When you receive the power of the Holy Spirit, the manifestation of the fruits becomes inevitable.
*_”Galatians 5:22-23 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Against such things there is no law.”_*
The bible says that against this qualities, there is no law. In order words, these virtues are supersedes law. They are the true characters of every true Christian.
– The first of this qualities as mentioned by the scripture is *Love.* God is Love. 1Cor. 13:1-13 listed the characteristics of love. It is not something manufactured by oneself but born out of the Spirit. Without the love of God in your life, your relationship with God and humanity will be useless. As God’s elects, love ought to rule our environment.
– *Joy* – Nehemiah 8:10 says that the joy of the Lord is our strength. A joy within which comes both in good and bad time, and nothing on earth can kill it. We ought to be joyful at all time.
– *Peace* – (John 14:27)
My peace I leave with you, my peace I give you, not as the world gives. The peace of the world does not last, but the Spirit gives us eternal peace.
– *Patience* – Patience will help you to take things easy and wait for God’s time as he has set everything according to its season. Holy Spirit helps us with patience to know that God’s time is the best.
– *Kindness* (Col. 3:12) – Being able to empathize yourself in other people’s situation. This fruit makes it possible to command followers.
– *Goodness* – Holy Spirit gives us this fruit to make us apple of God’s eyes and put us at the center of people’s love and godly affection.
– *Faithfulness* – The Spirit helps us with this fruit to always stand on what is right and true irrespective of the circumstances and consequences surrounding it. It makes us to be reliable and trustworthy.
– *Gentleness* – (Philippians 4:5, Proverbs 16:1). Ability to endure things no matter how hurting it is. Let your gentleness be known to all men.
– *Self Control* – This fruit helps to keep our life under control. Your thoughts, words, actions will be subject to you. It helps to guard our emotions and be conscious of the things above.
*Finally, strive to bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit and live a godly life, for against this, there is no law. This fruits prepare us for Heaven and sainthood.*
